Pro tip: Clear plastic bags do not make good disguises.

It must have been obvious that Jamie Neil, 41, was drunk and on something when he and a friend tried to rob a convenience store near Cornwall, England. His choice of disguise was a clear plastic bag that did nothing to conceal his features from recognition.

According to The Sun, police detectives had a chuckle at Neil’s expense for the “ridiculous” choice of disguise. It was so bad that Neil was arrested by an off-duty officer who recognized him from the store’s security video.

Neil’s accomplice wasn’t much smarter. Gareth Tilley, 20, had a better disguise of a scarf tied around his face, but tried to use his cell phone as a gun in his pocket. However, the phone went off in his pocket betraying the fact that it wasn’t a firearm at all.
