‘Breaking Bad’ Fans Called 911 When Their AMC Channel Went Missing

AMC’s hit TV show ‘Breaking Bad’ has a pretty fanatical viewing base. The season premiere brought in nearly 5.9 million viewers, and last nights second episode seemed to grab a similar audience. In every state but Connecticut.

Buzzfeed is reporting that some cable subscribers in Norwalk, Connecticut lost their cable when a power outage caused Cablevision’s Optimum cable to go down.

Obviously many fans had a perfectly natural reaction to the situation and called 911. The police department was not amused.

The Fairfield police department issued this statement via their Facebook page, “NOTICE: We are receiving numerous 911 calls regarding the Cablevision outage. This is neither an emergency or a police related concern. Please direct your inquires to Cablevision. 911 should only be called for Life Threatening Emergencies ONLY. Incidents that are not of an emergency nature may be reported to the Fairfield Police Department…Misuse of the 911 system may result in an arrest.”

The final episode of breaking bad will air September 29th on AMC.
