U2‘s latest song, “Ordinary Love,” made its debut in the trailer for the upcoming Nelson Mandela biopic, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom. The band announced via their website that they’ll release it on 10″ vinyl on Record Store Day (November 29). As is the case with all Record Store Day releases, it will be available in limited quantities (Rolling Stone reports that only 10,000 copies will be pressed). The B-side will be a new recording of “Breathe,” originally from their last album, No Line On The Horizon.
Other Record Store Day exclusives include a split 12″ vinyl live EP, with half of the songs from Lynyrd Skynryrd, and the other half by new southern rockers Blackberry Smoke, a vinyl box set containing Cheap Trick‘s first five LPs, a 3 LP set of Bob Dylan songs that have never appeared on his albums (called Side Tracks) and an album of remixes of songs from Elvis Costello‘s recent album with the Roots, Wise Up Ghost.
