Twisted Sister to Disband After Final Tour
After more than four decades together, Twisted Sister have announced they’re calling it quits—but going out with a bang.
The heavy metal legends, who decided to disband after their drummer A.J. Pero died from a heart attack last month, will be making a farewell tour in 2016. Confirming the news, frontman Dee Snider posted to Facebook the note “It’s official! New drummer and farewell,” along with a link to a TMZ story detailing the group’s last hurrah.
“We need to look at this and say to ourselves, as a live entity, on which our reputation rests, how do we honour that history?,” original member Jay French said after Pero’s death, according to NME.
As for who will replace Pero? Mike Portnoy will have that honor. He’ll be playing alongside Dee, Jay Jay French, Mark Mendoza, and Eddie Ojeda.
