Hard rock fans may have cause to rejoice within a few weeks: after being ignored for years, Rush and Deep Purple are on this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ballot, as is Heart and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. One question that has yet to be answered is, if inducted, which members of these groups will be included?

Deep Purple’s Jon Lord Dead at 71

Deep Purple keyboardist and co-founder Jon Lord died today (July 16) in London after suffering a fatal pulmonary embolism and a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer, his official website confirms. He was 71.
