Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines has covered Roger Waters route for an upcoming documentary surrounding the nearly 20-year-long West Memphis Three ordeal. Maines, who had been an outspoken opponent of the imprisonment of the three men, recorded a version of the Pink Floyd classic “Mother” for the documentary West of Memphis: Voices of Justice, which is coming out on January 15th.
Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters turned rock’n’roll theater into real-life entertainment with his top-grossing “The Wall” tour, but now the singer/bassist will try his hand at professional theater.
Thursday night, New York City’s Beacon Theatre hosted The Bob Woodruff Foundation’s sixth annual “Stand Up For Heroes” event. A part of the yearly New York Comedy Festival, the event features comedians and musicians performing to raise funds for the organization, which works to provide resources and support to injured service members, veterans and their families.
